Lecture to notes
Listen in class. Turn the lecture into study notes.
Record a lecture in Examo or upload an audio or video recording you are allowed to use. Examo prepares a structured summary in your course section, so the explanation, revision tools and questions stay together.
- Record or upload
- Audio and video

From lecture explanation to revision structure
Example with sample content.
Sample lecture excerpt
A confidence interval takes an estimate and adds or subtracts a margin of error. The margin depends on uncertainty and the confidence level.
Lecture note
Confidence interval = point estimate ± margin of error. A higher confidence level gives a wider interval when the data and method stay the same.
Check your understanding: why does asking for more confidence require a wider range?
How it works
Select a step to see what happens in it.
- A lecture recorded in Examo, or an audio or video file.
- Permission to record and use the lecture material.

What you add, what you get
You add
- A lecture recorded in Examo, or an audio or video file.
- Permission to record and use the lecture material.
- The course section for that lecture.
You get
- A structured summary rather than only a raw transcript.
- Lecture notes beside related course material.
- Prepared material for practice questions, flashcards and Loki.
What makes it different
- A recording with a purposeThe result lives in the lesson it belongs to, not in a separate meeting-notes workspace.
- Keep the structureThe lecture becomes organised summary material you can review alongside slides or reading.
- From listening to recallUse the prepared summary for questions and flashcards instead of just replaying the recording.
Examo vs a general AI chat
| Topic | Examo | A general AI chat |
|---|---|---|
| Where it lives | One summary per week or section, kept in your course. | A chat thread you keep track of yourself. |
| Long books | Examo finds a textbook's chapters and lets you match them to your course weeks. | You decide how to split a long book and where each part goes. |
| Lectures | Record in Examo, or upload audio and video files up to 1 GB. | You usually prepare a transcript or file first. |
| What comes next | Practice questions, flashcards, mind maps and Loki in the same course. | Each new task starts from a new prompt. |
Examo as it works today. General AI chat apps differ, and many can do more with careful prompts.
