Textbook summarizer

Summarise the textbook around your course

A whole textbook does not have to become one huge summary. Upload the book, review the chapters Examo finds and match the readings to your course sections. Study one chapter or assigned page range at a time.

Summaries in Examo

One book, mapped to your course

Example with sample content.

Sample reading plan

Chapter 4: Demand. Chapter 5: Supply. Chapter 6: Market equilibrium.

Course structure you choose

Section: Markets. Add the assigned pages from Chapters 4–6 and keep their summary material together. Another section can cover a different reading later.

Use chapter boundaries and your syllabus together; a chapter number does not have to be a course section's name.

What makes it different

  • The syllabus sets the structureOrganise by your sections instead of assuming every textbook chapter is a separate teaching week.
  • Choose what you needUse assigned chapters or page ranges so unrelated parts of the book do not dilute the reading.
  • The reading becomes practiceUse the prepared summary for questions, cards and explanations without another upload for every tool.

Questions

Can Examo summarise a whole textbook?

Upload a textbook, review its detected chapters and choose how to add the readings to your course. Process relevant chapters or page ranges rather than expect one unlimited whole-book request.

Do chapters have to become separate weeks?

No. Map the readings to sections that match your syllabus. Section names do not have to be week numbers.

Can I summarise just one chapter?

Yes. Choose the assigned chapter or page range and its destination section.

Can I generate questions from the textbook?

Yes. Examo prepares the summary foundation, then uses it for additional tools such as questions and flashcards.

What if chapter detection is wrong?

Check the suggested boundaries against the book before continuing and select the correct page ranges for your reading.

  • PDF to notesTurn a reading or slide PDF into structured notes in your course.
  • PDF to quizMake practice questions from the PDF pages you actually need.
  • PDF to flashcardsUse a chapter or slide PDF for question-and-answer recall practice.
